About this role
This is a permanent, full-time engineering position based in Bukit Batok, Singapore. Our client is looking for a Marine Field Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and servicing of marine electronic, navigation, communication and automation systems.
The role suits a fresh graduate or an engineer with up to three years of relevant experience who wants to build a career in marine service and technical work. The selected candidate gets hands-on exposure to vessel equipment, onboard service work, troubleshooting and customer support.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of marine electronic and automation systems.
- Support servicing and troubleshooting of navigation, communication, automation and safety systems installed onboard vessels.
- Assist senior engineers in identifying and resolving equipment faults and technical issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as instructed.
- Conduct equipment testing, calibration, configuration and functional checks.
- Assist with troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, control and communication systems.
- Read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals and technical documentation.
- Prepare accurate service reports, inspection reports, checklists and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate with senior engineers, customers, vessel crew, ship management companies and other stakeholders during service activities.
- Provide basic remote technical support to customers and help resolve technical issues.
Requirements
- Fresh graduate, ITE or Diploma holder in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic IT skills are required.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in marine service, automation, electronics, electrical systems, instrumentation or a related technical field.
- Freshers with relevant academic projects, internships or technical training may also be considered.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally for service assignments, training and project requirements.
What we offer
- Basic salary range of $2,200 – $3,500 per month, depending on qualification and experience, and not inclusive of AWS, variable bonus, overtime and allowances.
- Normal working hours 9am – 6pm, five days a week; weekend work is on an overtime basis.
- Based at our client's Bukit Batok location.
- Three-month job probation, followed by six months of on-the-job training (OJT).
